Q4 Week 1 - Create

Image
Honestly, I don't know what this is, but I spent an hour trying to decide on what to make, so I just went with this. I made a cube surrounded by a bunch of spheres, but you can't really see the cube. Also, I just want to mention how fun it is to play with clay. Maybe because it's a bit messy? As you can see, my hands both got a bit stained, but it was worth it. I thought about making a spider since this somewhat resembles one, but I'm scared of spiders and just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Q4 Week 1 - Clay Shapes

Image
I really like working with clay because it's something that I can hold in my hands. If I get frustrated, I can start from scratch with no harm done. I don't have to erase any lines, and that gives me a lot of creative freedom. I put it on the paper towel so it wouldn't turn my counter blue, so sorry about that! The most difficult shape for me was the pyramid, and the easiest one was the sphere. The sphere is my favorite one because it turned out really smooth and it's nice to look at.

Q4 Week 1 - Value Scale and Sphere

Image
This took me around an hour. I worked in my sketchbook with a pencil. I thought I had enough room for the sphere, but I forgot that I had to draw the shadow... oops! I was really happy with how this turned out.

Week 8 - One Point

Image
I used colored pencils and a pencil for this drawing, and it took me around 3 hours (mostly to color everything in). The pencils I'm using aren't the best quality, so it was difficult to get them to blend cohesively. I tried to make a sort of deserted town. This isn't my best work, but I still like the way it ended up turning out.

Week 8 - House Art

Image
This week I decided to draw this big window at the front of my house. I really like it because it makes our front room feel spacious and it lets a lot of light in. This took me about an hour and a half and I drew this in my sketchbook with a pen, pencil, and colored pencils.

Week 7 - Earth Art

So this week I went outside to see what I could find. Immediately, I saw these clovers and knew I wanted to do something with them. I wanted a contrast between the bright green of the clovers, so I used some dirt and a wheelbarrow to make that contrast. This took me about an hour since I went on a walk beforehand to get some inspiration. Here's the final product!
