Week 7 - Fruit

Image
I drew this in my sketchbooks with a no. 2 pencil and colored it in with colored pencils. It took me about 30 minutes.

Week 6 - Memory

Image
I used a pencil and pen for this drawing, and it took me around 2 hours. I really like how this turned out. I was going to try to do some facial expressions, but the expressions weren't clear in the picture, so I couldn't really make them out. This is of me boating with my family last year and it just reminds me of my childhood because we went boating every chance we could. I'm on the tube with my niece and my sister, and the reason we're all doing weird poses is so that my dad would go faster. This is one of my favorite pictures!

Week 6 - Logo

Image
So this week I decided to do the first letter of my name for the logo, and I made it into a fox. It took me about an hour to come up with the concept, design, and to draw it and color it. I used colored pencils and a #2 pencil. I did this in my sketchbook.

Week 5 - Grid Drawing

Image
I thought this week might be easy, but it was very difficult. I think it's because I chose a picture with a lot of geometric lines, and I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to things I create. I really wanted to get this just right, but it turned out just a little bit lopsided. I used pencil and it took me about 4.5 hours throughout the week. I got genuinely frustrated when I was drawing this, but it turned out okay in the end :)

Week 5 - Rose

Image
Since Valentine's Day is in one day, I decided to draw a rose. This took me about 45 minutes and I did it in my sketchbook with pencil and pen. I was going to color it in, but I liked the simplicity of it without color.

Week 4 - Negative Space

Image
For this week, we had to come up with a negative space drawing. It could either be a superhero or an animal, and I chose a superhero. I drew Wonder Woman reaching out to something, and her child self in the same position. I think I could've done better with the anatomy of the child and coloring it in. It was very difficult to get a solid color because I was using colored pencil. I didn't realize that it wouldn't be the kind of solid color I wanted until I had already started coloring it. All in all, I really like how this turned out. I did it on a 9x11 inch paper, and it was challenging to fill the whole page. It took me about three hours in total to figure out how I was going to draw this and to color it in. My reference pictures will be below.

Week 4 - Hands

Image
So for this weekly drawing, I eventually decided to do two hands that look like they're holding or cupping something. I was going to draw a ball of light between the hands or a planet, but I ended up just keeping it simple. I'm very proud of how this turned out, especially because I had a lot of trouble proportioning the hands. At first, I was going to do two hands holding each other. Then, I was going to do a fist. I drew this in my sketchbook, which is 10 inches by 8 inches. It took me about 50 minutes and I drew this in pencil. My reference picture will be below.

Week 3 - Collage

Image
I decided to make this collage based off of a picture I took when I was looking Christmas lights in Salt Lake City with my family. I really like this picture and it's very eye-catching for me. I drew this on regular printer paper, then I got out any craft supplies I had and started working. I also used old newspapers, ads, and a whole lot of glue. Here's the finished 4-inch by 9-inch piece!

Week 3 - Tree

Image
In my front yard, we have a big pine tree and it's the center of our garden. It inspires me because it shows the result of hard work. Here's my interpretation of the tree. This took me about 45-50 minutes and it's 2 inches by 8 inches. I feel proud of this work because it turned out better than I expected.
