Q2 Week 5 - Left Hand Drawing

Image
I definitely take for granted that I can draw easily with my right hand. Drawing this with my left hand was both frustrating and difficult. I wanted to go back in constantly and change lines or clean them up, but I couldn't. This took me about 45 minutes in my sketchbook with a pencil. It's supposed to be a willow tree, but I'm not sure how much it actually looks like one.

Q2 Week 5 - Macro Abstract Art

Image
I had a lot of fun when I was making this! There are so many different techniques with watercolor, and it was fun to play around with it. My reference photo was a picture of a geode, which I figured would be really cool to paint because of all the different textures. This took me about an hour and I used a watercolor palette, a pencil for sketching, and watercolor paper.

Q2 Week 4 - Digital Abstract

Image
After experimenting for about 10 minutes, I really got started on my abstract art piece. I really like the way this turned out. I think different people will have different interpretations, and that's really cool to me. Here's the finished product! I like how you can see texture in it, and I like how the blue and stark black draws the eye to the center of the piece so you can work your way to the edges and look at it as a whole. All in all, this was the most fun I've ever had when creating anything.

Q2 Week 3 - Sculpture

Image
This took me about 2 and a half hours to do. The arms were especially hard to do, and you can see that they're not as smooth as the rest of the sculpture. I know the head is big for the body, but I didn't want to risk redoing it and having the whole sculpture fall apart. I'm kind of proud of how this turned out!

Q2 Week 3 - Value scale

Image
So for this, I was going to draw a windmill, but instead, I was just inspired by the windmill. I drew a star, but it looked plain by itself, so I wanted to add something interesting, and that's where the background came from. This took me about an hour, and I drew this with a pencil in my sketchbook. I was also inspired by 'The Little Prince' because I think it's gorgeous.

Q2 Week 2 - Figure Final

Image
This took me about an hour, just because I wanted to get the proportions right. I used a pencil in my sketchbook.

Q4 Week 2 - Figures

Image
This week we're doing figures, and each of these took me about 2 minutes with a pencil. They're just supposed to be a rough sketch. My favorite sketch is the one with its hands help up to its head. I imagine them sticking their tongue out like a little kid saying, "come and get me!". I really like the playful aspect of it.
